A-Level tutors in Dammam and Al Khobar: online sixth-form support

Four Eastern Province schools that we could verify teach A Levels: British School Dhahran, the British International School Al Khobar (BISAK), Al Hussan International Academy in Khobar, where Grade 11 and 12 students choose between A Levels, the IB Diploma and a High School Diploma, and Inspire International Academy in Khobar. BISAK publishes its AS and A-Level results each year, which helps when comparing schools. All are Ministry of Education licensed. LiveTutor offers one-to-one online A-Level lessons with tutors who teach the board and components your child is entered for, at Eastern Province time.

Reading a school's A-Level offer

With only a few sixth forms in the area, subject availability varies more than in Riyadh or Dubai. Before applying, ask for the current option blocks: whether Further Maths runs, whether Biology and Physics can be taken together, and which board each subject uses. BISAK's published results table is a useful model of what to ask other schools for, because it shows entries and grade spreads by year.

All of these schools work under a Ministry of Education licence and keep Arabic and Islamic studies on the timetable for Saudi students. Saudi students planning to apply to Saudi universities with A Levels should also check certificate equivalency and whether their target university expects Qudurat and Tahsili.

Where A-Level students in the Eastern Province struggle

For students aiming at engineering, a natural goal in a region built around energy and industry, the core subjects are Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Those are also the subjects where the step from IGCSE is largest: AS Pure Maths assumes fluent algebra, and A-Level Physics expects students to handle calculus-based reasoning and multi-step calculations under time pressure.

A tutor focuses on precisely those points: algebraic manipulation, mechanics and electricity problems, and the exam habit of setting out working so method marks are not lost. In Year 13 the work shifts to full past papers marked against the official scheme.

Lesson times and the calendar

The Eastern Province is on the main Ministry calendar: public schools opened on 23 August 2026 and close on 24 June 2027, with Eid al-Fitr from 26 February to 13 March and Eid al-Adha from 7 to 22 May 2027. Cambridge and Pearson papers run on their international timetables, so part of the May/June series falls during the Eid al-Adha break.

Lessons are 60 minutes, one to one, in LiveTutor's online classroom, from Sunday to Thursday after school or at weekends, at UTC+3.

Common questions

Which schools in Al Khobar teach A Levels?

BISAK, Al Hussan International Academy and Inspire International Academy are in Al Khobar, and British School Dhahran is in neighbouring Dhahran.

Is there an A-Level option in Dammam city itself?

The verified A-Level schools are in Al Khobar and Dhahran, a short drive from Dammam. Online lessons make distance irrelevant for tutoring.

Should my child choose A Levels or the IB at Al Hussan?

A Levels suit students who want depth in three or four subjects; the IB suits all-rounders. Our guide to IB versus A-Levels sets out the trade-offs.

How much is an A-Level lesson?

$15 a lesson for every subject, on a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons billed monthly ($120 a month for two a week). The first lesson is a free trial.

Can lessons cover Further Maths?

Yes, if your child's school offers it. Tell us the board and modules when you book.
