Qudurat 1448 key dates
Dates from ETEC's General Aptitude Test page, checked on 6 October 2026. Hijri dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar.
| What | Gregorian | Hijri |
|---|---|---|
| Registration opens (boys), paper test | Monday 14 September 2026 | 3 Rabi' al-Thani 1448 |
| Registration opens (girls), paper test | Wednesday 16 September 2026 | 5 Rabi' al-Thani 1448 |
| Late registration opens (higher fee) | Sunday 1 November 2026 | 21 Jumada al-Ula 1448 |
| Paper test sitting | 10 to 14 December 2026 | 1 to 5 Rajab 1448 |
| Digital test | All year, booked by appointment | All year |
ETEC lists one paper sitting for 2026. The test day and centre for each student appear in the Qiyas beneficiary profile, and a seat number is sent the day before.
Paper or digital: which Qudurat should your child book?
| Paper (ورقي) | Digital (رقمي) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can sit it | Grade 12 (third secondary) only | Grade 11, Grade 12 and graduates |
| When | One national sitting, 10 to 14 Dec 2026 | All year at ETEC centres |
| Fee inside Saudi Arabia | SAR 100 early, SAR 150 late | SAR 150 |
| Results | About one month after the test | 3 to 5 working days |
| Change or cancel | Up to 72 hours before | Up to 48 hours before |
A test taken outside Saudi Arabia costs SAR 200. Of the five attempts, no more than four can be in one format.
What the test contains
ETEC publishes two versions. The scientific version is for the General, Health and Life Sciences, and Computer and Engineering tracks. The theoretical version is for the Sharia and Business Administration tracks. Weightings below are from ETEC's candidate guide.
| Section | Scientific version | Theoretical version |
|---|---|---|
| Verbal analogy | 17% | 21% |
| Sentence completion | 7% | 13% |
| Contextual error | 10% | 16% |
| Reading comprehension | 21% | 25% |
| Arithmetic | 23% | 13% |
| Geometry | 10% | 8% |
| Algebra | 4% | None |
| Data interpretation | 8% | 4% |
So the scientific version is about 55% verbal and 45% quantitative. Calculators are not allowed; the numbers are chosen to be workable by hand.
Paper in December or digital now?
The paper sitting is cheaper with early registration and is the route most Grade 12 students take, but it comes once, in the middle of first-semester work, and results take about a month. The digital test can be booked in a quiet week, gives a result within a week, and lets a Grade 11 student get a first attempt out of the way. Because every student has five attempts in total and universities generally use the best valid score sent to the unified admission platform, a sensible plan for a Grade 11 student is one digital attempt in the spring, then targeted work, then the December paper test or another digital sitting in Grade 12.
If your child is in Grade 12 now, the December window is close. Ten weeks is enough to learn the question types and fix timing, which is where most marks are lost. It is not enough to rebuild weak arithmetic from scratch, so be honest about the starting point.
The weeks before the test
- Register on Sadeed and pay the same day: an unpaid booking is deleted automatically.
- Download ETEC's free candidate guide and its practice tests for your version (scientific or theoretical) and do one full timed paper to find the weak section.
- Spend most practice time on the biggest sections: reading comprehension and analogy on the verbal side, arithmetic on the quantitative side.
- Practise mental arithmetic without a calculator every day, including fractions, percentages and ratios.
- Sit two more full papers under exam timing: about 2 hours of questions in sections you cannot go back to.
- The day before, check the centre and time in the Qiyas profile, and lay out an original, valid ID card. Work cards and university cards are not accepted.
How one-to-one lessons help with Qudurat
Qudurat rewards speed with familiar question types more than new knowledge, so a tutor's job is mostly diagnosis and drilling. In the first lesson the tutor sets a timed mixed section, then sorts every error into a cause: misread question, slow arithmetic, unknown method, or panic in the last minutes. Later lessons work through the weakest question type with short timed sets on the shared whiteboard, and the tutor shows faster routes, such as estimating before calculating or eliminating two options in an analogy before comparing the rest.
For the verbal section, ask for a tutor comfortable teaching in Arabic. Arabic-speaking tutors are available for some subjects, ask when you book. Quantitative work can be taught well in English or Arabic, as the maths is the same.

Dates and fees here were copied from ETEC on 6 October 2026. ETEC can add sittings or change windows, so confirm on etec.gov.sa or in Sadeed before paying, and register under your child's own national ID or iqama.
Common questions
When is the paper Qudurat for 1448?
From 10 to 14 December 2026, which is 1 to 5 Rajab 1448. Each student is given one day and one centre inside that window when they register.
Can a Grade 11 student sit Qudurat?
Yes, but only the digital test. ETEC limits the paper test to Grade 12 students, while the digital test is open to Grade 11, Grade 12 and graduates all year.
How many times can my child take Qudurat?
Five times in total, with no more than four attempts in the same format (paper or digital). A score stays valid for five years from the test date.
Is there a pass mark?
No. ETEC says there is no pass or fail. Each university decides how much weight the score carries and what minimum it accepts for each programme.
How much do Qudurat lessons cost with LiveTutor?
Every lesson is $15 for 60 minutes one to one, bought as a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons billed monthly. Two lessons a week for the ten weeks before the December sitting is a common pattern. The first lesson is a free trial.
