A revision timeline for an Eastern Province student
Built on the 1448 Eastern Province calendar and ETEC's announced paper Qudurat window.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| October 2026 | Take a timed practice test to find the weaker section; register for the paper test if sitting it |
| Early to mid November | Daily short quantitative sets; vocabulary and analogy practice for the verbal section |
| Autumn break, 20 to 28 November | Two or three full timed practice tests with careful review |
| 10 to 14 December | Paper Qudurat window |
| January to spring 2027 | Book a digital Qudurat if a better score is needed; start Tahsili revision of first and second secondary years |
Tahsili dates for 1448 had not been announced on 6 October 2026. Watch ETEC's e-services platform.
What the two tests cover
Qudurat has a verbal part, in Arabic, covering reading comprehension, analogies and sentence completion, and a quantitative part covering arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data. It rewards speed and accuracy rather than memorised syllabus. Tahsili checks secondary-school knowledge: biology, chemistry, physics and maths across all three years for the science tracks, with a separate humanities test for the Sharia and Business Administration tracks.
Universities convert the secondary average, Qudurat and Tahsili into one weighted score using their own percentages, so the same Qudurat score can matter more for one programme than another. Our weighted score calculator helps you see the effect.
Dammam and Al Khobar schools preparing students for Qiyas
All public secondary schools prepare students for Qudurat and Tahsili. These private national schools teach the Ministry curriculum; checked on 6 October 2026.
| School | Area |
|---|---|
| Manarat Al Dammam National Schools | Dammam |
| Manarat Al Khobar National Schools | Al Khobar |
| Al Hussan National Schools (girls, KG to secondary) | Al Mazrouiyah, Dammam |
| El Nokhba Science National Schools (bilingual) | Dammam |
How we can help, honestly
Online one-to-one lessons suit the quantitative section and Tahsili maths and sciences well. A tutor diagnoses which question types cost the most time, drills them in short timed sets, and teaches estimation and elimination for the multiple-choice format. Students in Jubail, Al Ahsa or Qatif get the same lessons as those in Al Khobar, at UTC+3.
Both tests are taken in Arabic. Most of our tutors teach in English and we have only a few Arabic-speaking tutors, so Arabic-language lessons, and anything for the verbal section, depend on availability. If we cannot match a suitable tutor, we will say so rather than offer the wrong one.
Common questions
When is the paper Qudurat for Eastern Province students?
The same national window: 10 to 14 December 2026. Choose the test location in the Eastern Province when registering on ETEC's platform.
Can my son take Qudurat digitally in Grade 11?
Yes. The digital test is open to second- and third-year secondary students through the year. The paper test is for third-year students.
Do you have an Arabic-speaking Qudurat tutor?
We have a small number of Arabic-speaking tutors. Ask when you book and we will tell you honestly whether one is available for your child.
How much is Qudurat or Tahsili tutoring?
$15 a lesson, on a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons billed monthly ($60 a month for one a week). The first lesson is a free trial.
How many times can Qudurat be retaken?
Five attempts in total across both formats, with no more than four in either.
