LiveTutor tutoring is a five step process. You sign up, describe your child's subject, level, curriculum and preferred times, and save a card, which is not charged. LiveTutor's team then matches a vetted tutor who already teaches that curriculum, usually within a few hours, you pick a time for the free trial, and you see the tutor's name, photo, qualifications and experience as soon as the match is made.
The first lesson is a free trial. If you want to continue after it, you choose a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons a week at $15a lesson, the single rate on the LiveTutor pricing page. It is billed monthly as four weeks of lessons, which is what lets your tutor hold the same times each week, chosen from that tutor's own availability. Each lesson lands on your calendar with a live video classroom link and a confirmation email. There is a 7 day money-back guarantee before the first paid lesson, and cancelling a single lesson 48 hours or more ahead costs nothing.

How the match is made
A person reads your details, not an algorithm. We match on the curriculum and exam board first, because a tutor who teaches the wrong specification wastes your money however good they are, then on level, on availability in your timezone and on the accent you asked for. Every tutor has been interviewed, approved by hand, and recorded a voice introduction our team listened to for the accent. The match usually lands within a few hours, and you see the tutor's name, photo, qualifications and experience the moment it does.
The first lesson is free, and it is a real lesson
The trial is not a sales call. The tutor asks about recent topics and upcoming assessments beforehand, teaches for the full 45 minutes, and sets a short piece of follow-up work. It costs nothing and it does not use one of the lessons in your month. If the fit is wrong, take your money back from the parent portal before the first paid lesson, or ask the support desk to switch tutor and keep the lessons you have paid for.
After lessons begin
Every lesson is $15, whatever the subject and whatever the level. A paid month gives you four lessons for each lesson a week, and those lessons are used inside that month: nothing rolls over. The plan renews monthly until you cancel, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for. Change the number of lessons a week and it applies from the next month. After each lesson you get a short written note on what was covered. Cancel or reschedule a lesson 48 hours or more ahead and it goes back into your month, and a lesson a tutor misses goes back too.
