0. Company Information
LiveTutor is a product of Neu Software LLC, a company registered in Delaware, United States.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LiveTutor's website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all users, including parents, guardians, and students.
2. Description of Services
LiveTutor provides online tutoring services connecting students with qualified tutors. Our services include one-on-one tutoring sessions, progress tracking, and related educational support across the subjects published on our subjects page, spanning Mathematics, English, languages, the Sciences, humanities and exam preparation.
3. User Accounts
When registering, you agree to provide accurate information, maintain your credentials securely, accept responsibility for all account activities, and notify us of unauthorized use. Parents or guardians must register on behalf of students under 18.
4. Free Trial Lessons
The first lesson is a free trial, limited to one per household. To book the trial, a parent saves a payment card, which is not charged for the trial. A weekly plan is chosen and paid for only after the trial, if the family wants to continue. The trial lesson is not charged and does not use a lesson credit. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial at any time.
5. Weekly Plans and Payment
All lessons are online, at $15 per 60 minute lesson for every subject and level. Families buy a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons a week, billed monthly as 4 weeks of lessons: $60 for 1 lesson a week, $120 for 2 lessons a week, $180 for 3 lessons a week, $240 for 4 lessons a week, $300 for 5 lessons a week a month. There is no volume discount: every plan is the same price per lesson. The first month is paid when the parent chooses the plan after the trial, on a payment screen where the amount is shown and the parent enters or chooses a card, such as the one saved for the trial, and confirms the payment. The plan then renews monthly on that card automatically, on the same date, until it is cancelled. Prices are shown in USD and selected local currencies and may change with prior notice.
6. Lesson Credits, Renewal and Changes
Each paid month grants 4 lesson credits for every lesson a week on the plan. Credits are valid only inside the month they were granted and do not roll over. A lesson cancelled 48 hours or more ahead returns its credit, which may be used again before the month ends. A parent may change the number of lessons a week at any time, and the change takes effect from the next month with no proration. A parent may switch tutor at any time: the remaining lessons in the current month are rebooked into the new tutor's published weekly availability at no extra charge, and no refund is due for the switch.
7. Money-Back Guarantee
A parent may request a full refund of the month they have paid for at any time before the first paid lesson has started and within 7 days of the first payment for the plan. A refund cancels the plan immediately, cancels every scheduled lesson, and returns the last payment in full. After that window the guarantee no longer applies, and the plan can be cancelled instead under section 8.
8. Cancellation and Rescheduling
A parent may cancel the plan at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for: lessons scheduled inside that month still run, nothing is booked beyond it, and no further payment is taken. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee. An individual lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled at least 48 hours before it starts at no cost, and its credit returns to that month. A later cancellation uses the credit, because the tutor has held the time. If a tutor cancels or does not attend, the credit returns and the parent may book another time. If nobody attends from the parent's side, the credit is not returned: the lesson is treated exactly as a cancellation inside 48 hours, because the tutor held the time and was present. Prepaid hour bundles are a separate product for families who are not on a weekly plan: while a plan is active or past due, no bundle is offered and none can be bought. A bundle bought before a plan started does not expire.
9. Tutor Match Promise
The first lesson is a free trial. If the tutor is not the right match, a parent may take the money-back guarantee before the first paid lesson, or switch tutor and keep the lessons already paid for. A second free trial is not offered.
10. Tutor Conduct
All tutors go through our vetting before they teach: our team reads their application and CV, listens to their voice introduction to check the accent, interviews them, and approves them by hand. If you have concerns about a tutor, please contact us immediately.
11. Session Recordings
Sessions are not recorded by default. If recording is introduced for a specific session, LiveTutor will obtain appropriate consent and state the purpose, access controls, and retention period before recording begins.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the LiveTutor website is our property or our content providers' and is protected by intellectual property laws. Educational materials are for personal, non-commercial use only.
13. User Responsibilities
You agree to ensure a suitable learning environment, provide reliable equipment, treat tutors with respect, not arrange sessions outside the platform, and not distribute session content without authorization.
14. Limitation of Liability
LiveTutor provides services on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for services in the preceding 3 months.
15. Termination
Either party may terminate at any time. We reserve the right to suspend access for violations of these terms, abusive behaviour, or failed payments. Outstanding fees remain payable upon termination.
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by applicable laws. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if that fails, binding arbitration.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted with an updated revision date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
