CBSE tutors in Abu Dhabi: Science and Commerce streams, Classes 9 to 12

Abu Dhabi's CBSE schools are concentrated on the mainland, in Mussafah, Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Baniyas, alongside long-established schools on the island and in Al Ain. They are licensed by ADEK and affiliated to CBSE, whose Regional Office in Dubai now oversees schools outside India. For Abu Dhabi families the big decisions come at Class 10 boards and the Class 11 stream choice between Science and Commerce. LiveTutor matches students with tutors who teach the NCERT-based CBSE syllabus, in 60-minute online lessons at $15, timed around the April-start Indian school year.

Where CBSE schools are in the emirate

Many Indian families in Abu Dhabi live on the mainland, and the CBSE schools have followed them: Mussafah, Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Baniyas all have CBSE schools. On the island, the Abu Dhabi Indian School on Al Muroor Road is one of the oldest Indian schools in the emirate, with a second campus in Al Wathba. Al Ain has its own Indian schools. All are licensed by ADEK, which inspects them under the Irtiqa'a framework alongside every other private school; its 2024-25 results covered 204 schools.

Affiliation is separate from licensing. These schools are affiliated to CBSE in New Delhi, and since July 2024 schools outside India have come under CBSE's Regional Office and Centre of Excellence in Dubai. That office handles exam administration and teacher training for the region, which makes board exam logistics more local than they used to be.

When lessons fit for Abu Dhabi CBSE students

Indian schools in Abu Dhabi follow ADEK's weekly rules, so Friday classes have ended by 11:30am since January 2026. School bus journeys across the mainland can be long, so students are often tired by mid-afternoon. Families usually book a lesson between 5pm and 7pm on a school day, or on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. A lesson online also suits Al Ain and Al Dhafra families, where finding a specialist tutor for Class 12 Physics or Accountancy in person can be hard.

The April start means the first term moves quickly. A tutor who starts in April keeps pace with new chapters; from October the focus shifts to pre-boards, sample papers and practical files.

What a CBSE tutor does in lessons

For Class 10, the tutor works through the NCERT chapters with the student, then practises the competency-based and case-based questions that now form a large share of board papers. For Class 11, the priority is a strong start: calculus and vectors in Maths, mechanics in Physics, and mole concept and organic basics in Chemistry, because Class 12 depends on them. For Class 12, lessons combine the remaining syllabus with timed CBSE sample papers, derivations and diagrams practised until they are exact, and, for Commerce students, Accountancy formats and Economics diagrams that carry marks of their own.

Common questions

Which board do Indian schools in Abu Dhabi follow?

Most follow CBSE. They are licensed by ADEK and affiliated to CBSE in New Delhi, and since July 2024 come under CBSE's Regional Office in Dubai.

When should my child choose a Class 11 stream?

Schools usually confirm streams after Class 10 results. Talk to the school early in Class 10, because Class 10 marks in Maths and Science often decide who is offered PCM or PCB.

Can you help Al Ain students too?

Yes. Lessons are online, so the emirate's distances do not matter. Al Ain and Al Dhafra students get the same tutors and lesson times as families in the city.

How much do CBSE lessons cost in Abu Dhabi?

$15 a lesson for every subject and class. Choose 1 to 5 lessons a week, billed monthly; the first lesson is a free trial and you can cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before a lesson at no cost.
