CBSE announces result days at short notice, often on the day itself. Follow cbse.gov.in rather than social media; CBSE has publicly warned against rumours about result dates.
Where to check a CBSE result
| Channel | What you get |
|---|---|
| cbse.gov.in and results.nic.in | Subject marks and result status, using details from the admit card |
| UMANG website or app | The same result through the government services app |
| DigiLocker app or results.digilocker.gov.in | Digital marksheet-cum-certificate, migration and skill certificates from CBSE's Parinam Manjusha repository |
| School | School-wise results by email, and later the printed marksheet, including for schools abroad |
Students of CBSE schools abroad who cannot access DigiLocker can raise a ticket on nad-support.digilocker.gov.in under the CBSE international student category, according to CBSE's 2026 notification.
After the result: re-checking marks
CBSE's post-result process, as set out in its 2026 notice. It is online only, with fees paid online, and each step accepts one application per candidate.
- Apply for a scanned copy of the evaluated answer book for any subject. Only students who obtain the scanned copy can go to the next steps.
- Read the copy against the marking scheme. Look for unmarked answers, totalling errors and steps that should have earned marks.
- Apply for verification of marks and/or re-evaluation of one or more full questions in that answer book.
- If a Class 10 subject was taken in both the main and second exam, you can get both answer books but must choose only one for verification or re-evaluation.
- Fees are refunded if marks increase. Marks can also fall, even by one mark, and a changed result means surrendering the old marksheet for a new one.
How Class 10 grades are given
CBSE awards grades on a 9-point scale by rank among passed candidates, as well as marks.
| Grade | Band |
|---|---|
| A1 | Top 1/8 of passed candidates |
| A2 | Next 1/8 |
| B1 | Next 1/8 |
| B2 | Next 1/8 |
| C1 | Next 1/8 |
Source: CBSE Secondary curriculum 2026-27. A pass needs 33% in a subject. The remaining bands continue in the same way down the rank order.
If the result is disappointing
For Class 10, the second board exam in May is now the main route to a better mark: passed students can improve up to three subjects, and the better of the two attempts counts. In 2026, 59.95% of students who sat it for improvement did better than in the main exam, according to CBSE. For Class 12, the supplementary exam serves a similar role for one subject. Whichever route, the weeks between results and the next exam are short, so start with the subject's marking scheme and the student's own answer book.
One-to-one lessons fit this window well. A tutor who teaches CBSE can read the scanned answer book with your child, show where the marking scheme gave or withheld marks, and spend each lesson on the question types and chapters that lost the most. For Gulf families, online lessons avoid the summer travel problem: lessons continue wherever the family is.
Common questions
When will CBSE 2027 results be declared?
CBSE has not announced dates. In 2026, Class 10 main results came on 15 April and Class 12 results on 13 May, so April and May 2027 are likely, with the Class 10 second exam result in July.
Can students in the UAE or Saudi Arabia use DigiLocker?
Yes. CBSE extended DigiLocker access to students of affiliated schools abroad, and printed marksheets are supplied through the school.
Can marks go down after re-evaluation?
Yes. CBSE states that a decrease of even one mark will be applied. Fees are refunded only if marks increase.
What is the pass mark in CBSE?
33% in each subject. CBSE's scheme for each subject sets how the board exam and internal or practical marks count towards it, so check the subject's curriculum document.
How much does LiveTutor cost for a CBSE improvement exam?
Every lesson is $15 for 60 minutes one to one, on a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons billed monthly. Two lessons a week between results and the second exam is common. The first lesson is a free trial.
