Choosing a date from Jeddah
Grade 11 students often take a first SAT in December or March and a second in May or June, leaving the autumn of Grade 12 for a final attempt before early applications. In 2027 the March date falls in the last days of Ramadan, which is expected to run from about 8 February to 8 March, so a student who fasts may prefer December or May.
Because Thamer and Waad host the test in Jeddah, there is no need to travel to Riyadh or abroad. Check the centre list on College Board for each date, as availability changes and seats go quickly near deadlines.
How SAT lessons work
The tutor starts with a full Bluebook practice test and builds a plan from the results. Reading and Writing lessons focus on grammar conventions, transitions and evidence questions, all of which reward rules learned and applied. Math lessons cover algebra, problem solving and data analysis, and advanced math such as quadratics and exponential functions, plus strategy for the harder second module.
Lessons are 60 minutes, one to one, in LiveTutor's online classroom, at Jeddah time. Two lessons a week for eight to ten weeks before the test is a common pattern, with a timed module set between lessons.
Common questions
Can I take the SAT in Jeddah?
Yes. Thamer International Schools and Waad Academy both state they are SAT test centres. Confirm which centres are open for your date when registering with College Board.
Does the SAT clash with school?
No. International SAT dates are Saturdays, a weekend day in Saudi Arabia.
Do Saudi universities use the SAT?
Saudi public universities mainly use Qudurat and Tahsili. The SAT matters for US colleges and some international programmes, so check each target university.
What does SAT tutoring cost?
$15 a lesson, or $120 a month for two lessons a week. The first lesson is a free trial.
Is a score increase guaranteed?
No. Progress depends on practice between lessons. The tutor tracks it with timed practice so you can see where your child stands.
