SAT test centres in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman

SAT centres in the Gulf are mostly international schools and universities authorised by College Board, and the list changes from one test date to the next. The only reliable way to see open seats is College Board's test centre search, which you use while registering. Book as soon as registration opens: popular centres can fill before the deadline, and not every centre runs every date. Everyone testing outside the US pays $68 plus a $43 international fee, brings their own device with Bluebook installed, and shows a valid photo ID.

Where SAT centres are in each country

This is the pattern of where centres sit, not a fixed list. Seats and centres change every test date, so always confirm in the College Board search.

How to book a seat

  1. Create or sign in to a College Board account with the student's name exactly as it appears on the ID they will bring.
  2. Start registration on sat.org, choose the test date, then search by city. The search shows only centres with open seats on that date.
  3. If nothing is free nearby, join the waitlist. It is free and automatically places the student in a seat that opens within the radius you set.
  4. Pay $111 ($68 registration plus $43 international fee) by card. Late registration adds $38.
  5. Install Bluebook on the testing device, then complete exam setup in the five days before the test to get the admission ticket.

ID, devices and what can go wrong

Bring a valid, original, physical photo ID whose name matches the registration. Some centres are stricter than the minimum: American University of Sharjah, for example, accepts only an original passport or UAE national ID. Read the centre's own instructions in the admission ticket.

Students test on their own Windows or Mac laptop, iPad or school-managed Chromebook with Bluebook installed, and must bring the device fully charged. If your child has no suitable device, request a College Board loan device at least 30 days before test day. The test is cached on the device, so a brief internet drop does not end the exam.

Centres can close or change at short notice. Check your email, the Bluebook test card and the College Board closings page the evening before. If your centre closes, College Board posts makeup information on the same page.

Test where you will be calm

If your child can choose between a familiar school and a larger venue, the familiar one is usually worth a longer drive. Unfamiliar check-in queues and rooms cost focus on the first module.

Getting ready for test day with a tutor

Booking the seat is the easy part. A tutor uses Bluebook practice tests to set a target, then spends lessons on the domains that cost the most points and on pacing through the adaptive second module. Lessons are one to one, online and 60 minutes, so a student in Muscat or Manama has the same access as one in Dubai.

Common questions

Where can I take the SAT in Dubai?

Several American-curriculum and IB schools and universities in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi run SAT sittings. Seats change each date, so use College Board's test centre search while registering to see which centres have space.

Is there an extra fee for SAT centres in the Gulf?

Everyone outside the US pays the $43 international fee on top of the $68 registration fee. College Board's list of centres with an extra $24 fee had no Gulf centres when we checked in October 2026.

What if every centre near me is full?

Join College Board's free waitlist. It automatically places your child in a seat that opens within the radius you choose, up to the test date.

Can my child take the SAT in another Gulf country?

Yes. Students can register at any centre with seats, in any country. They must travel with the same ID used to register.

How do LiveTutor's SAT lessons work and what do they cost?

Lessons are one to one, online, 60 minutes, with a tutor who teaches the digital SAT. Each costs $15 on a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons billed monthly, and the first lesson is a free trial.
