Qudurat and Tahsili tutoring in Jeddah: online preparation

Jeddah's Grade 11 and 12 students sit the same Qiyas tests as the rest of the Kingdom: Qudurat, the General Aptitude Test, and Tahsili, the Achievement Test, both run by ETEC. The 1448 paper Qudurat is set for 10 to 14 December 2026, while the digital test can be booked at computer-based centres through the year, up to five attempts in total. Jeddah private schools such as Waad Academy, Al-Andalus and Manarat Jeddah build the tests into Grade 12. LiveTutor can help with quantitative and Tahsili maths and science; Arabic-language lessons depend on our small number of Arabic-speaking tutors.

What each test asks of a Jeddah student

Qudurat measures reasoning rather than syllabus knowledge. Its verbal part tests Arabic comprehension, analogies and sentence completion; its quantitative part tests arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data interpretation at a fast pace. Tahsili tests what was taught across all three secondary years: for the science tracks that means biology, chemistry, physics and maths, and the Sharia and Business Administration tracks sit a separate humanities test.

Universities in Jeddah and elsewhere combine the secondary school average with Qudurat and Tahsili scores using their own weights. Check the admission guide of each university your child is considering, and use the weighted score to decide which test deserves more preparation time.

Jeddah schools that prepare students for Qiyas

Every public secondary school prepares students for Qudurat and Tahsili. These private schools teach the Saudi curriculum or state Qiyas preparation; checked 6 October 2026.

Booking tests around Jeddah's school year

Jeddah's school year started a week later than Riyadh's in 1448, on 30 August 2026, so the first semester runs later too. The December paper Qudurat therefore comes earlier in Jeddah's first semester than it does in Riyadh's. A student who is not ready by then can book the digital test later in the year at a Jeddah computer-based centre, choosing the location and slot during registration on ETEC's site.

Tahsili dates for 1448 had not been published when we checked on 6 October 2026. Because the test draws on all three secondary years, a sensible plan is to revise first-year and second-year science during the first semester and leave the final weeks for timed mixed practice.

What we can and cannot offer

Online lessons work well for the quantitative section and for Tahsili maths, physics and chemistry: a tutor builds fast, accurate arithmetic and algebra, teaches how to estimate and eliminate answers, and runs timed sets with a review of every mistake. Lessons are 60 minutes, one to one, in LiveTutor's online classroom at Jeddah time.

Both tests are written in Arabic, and the verbal section is entirely about Arabic. Most of our tutors teach in English, and we have only a small number of Arabic-speaking tutors, so we can offer verbal-section preparation only when one is free. Tell us what your child needs when you book and we will be straight with you about whether we are the right fit.

Common questions

Where can my child sit Qudurat in Jeddah?

At an ETEC test location in Jeddah, chosen during registration on ETEC's platform. The paper test runs from 10 to 14 December 2026; the digital test is booked at computer-based centres through the year.

Do you have a Qudurat tutor who teaches in Arabic?

We have a small number of Arabic-speaking tutors, available for some subjects. Ask when you book and we will say honestly whether one can take your child.

Should my child sit the paper or the digital Qudurat?

Paper is once a year in December for Grade 12. Digital is available through the year for Grades 11 and 12 and gives more flexibility. Both count towards the five-attempt limit.

How much is Qudurat or Tahsili tutoring?

$15 a lesson, on a weekly plan of 1 to 5 lessons billed monthly ($120 a month for two a week). The first lesson is a free trial.

When should Tahsili preparation start?

Ideally in the first semester of Grade 12, revising earlier years' science and maths before the final semester gets busy.
