What R papers are and who sits them
Some International GCSE subjects have an alternative regional paper, the R paper, with its own start times. Pearson's start-times document lists the countries that use R papers, and the UAE and Oman are on that list. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain are not, so schools there enter the main papers.
R papers carry their own codes (for example 4MA1 1HR rather than 1H) and their own grade boundaries. Some subjects have no R version in May/June, including Arabic, Islamic Studies and Computer Science, so every candidate sits the main paper.

How tutoring fits a May/June Edexcel year
With the timetable already final, you can plan backwards from each paper. A tutor can set out which topics to secure before the March entry deadline (useful when Foundation or Higher tier is still being decided) and then switch to timed past papers, marked with Pearson mark schemes, from Easter.

When do Edexcel International GCSE exams start in 2027?
The summer 2027 International GCSE timetable runs from Monday 10 May to Friday 18 June 2027. Mathematics A Paper 1 is on Friday 14 May and Paper 2 on Thursday 27 May.
Do students in the UAE sit different Edexcel papers?
Yes, where an R paper exists. Pearson lists the UAE and Oman among the countries that use R papers in May/June. The dates for the main subjects are the same as the main papers, but the start times differ.
What time do Edexcel exams start in Saudi Arabia?
For International GCSE main papers in May/June, Pearson's start-times document gives 11:00 local time for morning papers and 15:30 for afternoon papers. IAL papers start at 09:00 and 12:00 local time.
What is the entry deadline for Edexcel summer 2027?
21 March 2027. Late fees apply from 22 March and higher late fees from 22 April 2027.
